According to Davis (2000) “The majority of incarcerated fathers have two or more children, and it is estimated that they owe more than$122 million in child support.” When they are let out of prison, they are not able to find employment suitable to sustain a family due to their criminal records. Congress should initiate more programs that assists convicted felons, who are also fathers, with employment, training and educational opportunities.
I believe our government should create initiatives aimed at helping non-custodial parents, who also have criminal records, find employment and educational opportunities. If you agree please sign this petition so that more families can receive support.
