In these times, it's normal for a student to come home around 6- 7 (fatigued from sports practice, clubs, etc) and have at least 2- 3 hours of homework. They also have to eat dinner, shower, & do anything necessary to prepare for the next day filled with activities. Students typically get about 5-6 hours of sleep, staying up late to finish any school work & waking up around 6 the next morning to repeat the same process. THIS IS NOT HEALTHY. The less sleep students have, the grumpier they are, they are more likely to get sick, to act up. What about family time? Nowadays kids eat in their rooms so they can complete their homework w/out stopping to sit down with family & eat dinner! Studies show that kids who don't eat meals with their families are more likely to drink & smoke. What's best?
