There are limited resources for families of children and adults with Autism or Asperger's Syndrome. The symptoms are often not recognised as educators, parents and health professionals are not educated to see even the most common signs. These kids are labled as bad kids, weird, and trouble makers. When given the proper support children in the Autism spectrum can learn to overcome their differences and thrive and prosper in society. Many of the proven treatments are not covered by insurance, these children are often misdiagnosed, and resources are extremely limited once you find them. Our educators need to be educated in how to help these children in our public schools, insurance companies need to listen to experts about what is effective, and parents need support.
