help pass a bill to require Americans on welfare to pass drug screenings to receive benefits

Any American that applies for and receives welfare benefits should have to submit to random drug screenings. Why should our taxpayer dollars be denied to hard working people while they are going to ones that use that financial aid to buy, use and sell illegal prescription medications and other street drugs. They should have to pass the same screening requirements that employers require to maintain employment. Any medication would need a valid prescription. The money saved from not paying the benefits would cover the cost of the tests and the money not spent on drugs would go back into the economy. We have no problem helping people willing to help themselves but will not support illegal activity
