Kelly Thomas was a mentally ill homeless man who, according to his physician, had the brain of an 11 year old boy. This man was doing nothing wrong but was accused of "stealing someones mail". Kelly was listening to the officers and doing what they were telling him to do, until the African American officer put on a pair of latex gloves and said some derogatory terms to Kelly. Kelly then backed away, clearly afriad, and that is when both officers attacked him. Kelly apologized 15 times, called his dad for help 31 times, and pleaded God for help 26 times. When the paramedics arrived, they tazed Kelly multiple times, yet the officers were still on top of him, as if trying to crush him. They then helped the officers with their mild scratches before even considering Kelly in his pool of blood.
