Much like how MADD (mothers against drunk driving) influenced the national government to persuade all 50 states to raise the drinking age to 21, we plan to do the same to convince the states to recognize equality in marriage. By utilizing the instate commerce clause of the constitution the national government can create a new categorical grant for funding interstate repair and construction. We propose a 20 million dollar grant be given to each state recognizing same sex marriage by the end of 2016. This is justified because states with equal marriage laws will get more traffic from same sex couples and their families entering the state for marriage.
