Help Put A Stop To Bullying In Our Schools!

I am saddened and appalled about the poor girl, Amanda Cummings who just killed herself in Staten Island, NY, because of bullying. I propose an idea. Why can't we have a Social worker in each school with a committee, dedicated to bullying issues. They should have a liaison with the police department. A student who feels threatened could talk to someone confidentially, and if the circumstances are extreme, the police could be involved. Something has got to give before more senseless tragedies occur. I am 43 years old now, but I will never forget being bullied in school. I used to go to the nurses office almost every day so my mother could come pick me up because I was afraid . There should be a law against bullying, with jail time for offenders! Sincerely,
