It is nearly impossible for a young veteran to reenlist in the Army after having gotten out, even with an honorable discharge.
Many people get out of the Army, thinking that there is something more for them out in the world, only to realize how much they truly miss and enjoyed being in the Army. However when they go to a recruiter to see about reenlisting, they are often shut down before they begin because the Prior Service Business Rules limits reenlistment to persons who had very specific jobs and specific ranks. All others are required to go Special Forces if they reenlist, which isn't for everybody and isn't open to women.
It is easier for person with no military experience or training to get into the Army than for a trained 22yr old veteran with an honorable discharge to reenlist.
