Right now, more than 1.6 million unemployed Americans have lost federal unemployment benefits because Congress has, thus far, failed to renew the Emergency Unemployment Compensation (EUC) program and allowed it to expire on December 31, 2013.
Another 72,000 people each week are losing access to those federal EUC extensions as their regular state jobless aid runs out.
Millions more will lose access to federal unemployment insurance throughout the entirety of 2014, unless Congress acts to restore EUC and renew the federal benefit
