A new pesticide class known as neonicotinoids is put on agricultural seeds and plants which creates a condition where the pesticide moves through a plant’s vascular system and bees pick up the pesticide-tainted pollen. It seems these pesticides produce lethal and sub-lethal effects in bee larvae, reproductive effects on the queen and physiological affects that impact enzyme activity in bees and leads to impairment of memory, navigation and feeding behavior.
There are about 100 crop species that provide 90 percent of food globally. Of these, 71 are pollinated by bees.
Please help place a ban on these new class of pesticides and that create lethal and sub-lethal effects on bees.
