The enviroment Correctional Workers are forced to deal with everyday are very dangerous. As Correctional workers we uphold an oath to protect the public while our own safety goes un-noticed and over looked. If you want the real staff to inmate ratio it ranges anywhere from 1 to 128. Does that sound safe to you.Times have changed and better training with more funding for equipment and manpower is a must. It's very easy for someone who has never stepped foot in this enviroment to not give us a second thought. I challenge anyone who has the authority to make these changes to spend eight hours in a maximum security prison to see first hand what it's really like. Thank you for your support.
