One of the first steps to building a permanent solution to the energy crisis is to help spread access to knowledge and information through the creation of sustainable libraries in the areas that need them. Coal country will eventually have to shift to another source of income. These areas are in desperate need of libraries that double as communities centers.
Have them run on solar power so that they are sustainable and incorporate education and job search/training help. Lets turn coal country into alternative energy country and show the US how much Kentucky has to offer. The libraries can team up with local college and government to reduce dropout rates and create green jobs to replace the dangerous and unsustainable coal mining in this area. Bring skilled labor to this region to stay.
