Your administration, through Arne Duncan, has refused to share critical information with legislators who are trying to pass a bill to allow refinancing of student loans. Members of Congress said they have been denied access to information that would determine how many borrowers could benefit from refinancing programs, how much money individual borrowers could save, and the impact of the legislation on the federal budget deficit. The federal government MAKES 41.3 billion on student loan interest, and our citizens are drowning in debt and are unable to invest in their own futures. We ask for your assistance to help this crucial legislation pass through Congress, and for you to sign this legislation when it does.
