help support a community effort to remove a 'wetland' established in a residential community

Created by J.K. on May 02, 2013

I have been fighting for a minimum of two years to have swampland or 'wetland' removed from in back of a residential subdivision. I am against this natural habitat being constructed because of the neglect of the area. There is shrubbery and bushes that have grown up with no maintenance. There are retention ponds that house stagnant dirty water which is a haven for mosquitoes and snakes. Rats have been seen back there as well. After researching 'wetland's I found that while they are essentially good from a functional standpoint, they are not situated in a residential community behind apartments and a subdivision. I was made aware that it was being constructed and this stagnant dirty water sits behind my property. My county government and commissioners have been unresponsive for two years!
