All across the U.S., communities have been rendered helpless to man-made and natural disasters, large or small, due to unchecked corporate power that places profit before people, and an over-reliance on external resources for meeting the basic needs of their local populations.
Community oriented small-business owners and entrepreneurs everywhere are being shut out of the economy by large corporations flexing their fiscal muscles. Equal protection and due process have taken a back seat to, "May the best paid legal team win". Individuals and small-businesses can only lose out to corporate clout.
The country needs bold leadership with a clear vision of a future economic vitality built upon a solid foundation of community-centric sustainability.
