Help working families by reducing or eliminating payroll taxes on any overtime wages. The same should hold true for any bonuses. Often these payments are subjected to a higher tax rate. People work extremely hard and long to get a few extra dollars, quit taxing them on their attempts to get a little bit ahead. The minuscule reduction in tax would be greatly offset by the stimulus in spending by the recipients of the tax break. The current tax rate discourages working overtime.
Americans work hard for their money, let's stop penalizing them for going the extra mile for their families and their employers, who need the extra labor, from time to time.
The Constitution originally stated that wages shall not be taxed. With that in mind, this request doesn't seem too much to ask.
