Why ban $1000 rifles when you can buy an easily concealable one for $200? Why are we focusing on localized, albeit extremely tragic, massacres when thousands of people every year are being murdered by cheap weapons across our cities?
Petition the government to reevaluate its priorities. Petition the government to invest more money into making people’s lives better in our more afflicted urban centers, not expanding law enforcement’s already bloated budget and turning the US into a police state.
Affordable housing for low income families, better education, affordable health care, and subsidized and/or cheaper contraceptives for women - all of this will contribute to reduce gun violence. People generally don’t shoot each other when they’re happy.
