We petition the Congress to immediately work to enact an amendment to create a National Popular Vote and abolish the Electoral College. The Electoral College represents a perversion of the democracy America prides itself as being founded upon. Five times in the history of our great nation has the popular vote differed from the choice of the Electoral College. A president's power is under the mandate of the people. Without the firm resolution and authority of the people, our president has no right nor reason to govern. The only way for our democracy to move forward is through the establishment of a National Popular Vote. It happened to Al Gore, it has happened to Hillary Clinton. Let us not repeat history, sign this petition to abolish the Electoral College.
