There are thousands of unemployed and skilled veterans available to be hired for positions that could provide additional security in our schools.
After appropriate screening some of these veterans could be hired and trained as concealed carry school custodians and/or cafeteria workers.
To be clear this proposal does not in any way suggest these workers neither would be nor should be expected to replace or act as police officers; their primary roles would be school custodians and/or cafeteria workers with the added responsibility of safely securing their school’s premises during school lock down situations until local law enforcement arrive on the scene.
Many specifics would need to be worked out with this type of program but the overall concept is doable and worthy of serious consider
