Vigorously investigate and prosecute all culpable bank executives, as well as government regulators, for criminal activities (and nonfeasance in the case of regulators) that caused the Housing Bubble and the Great Recession of 2008. During a similar catastrophe in the late 1980s and early 1990s, more than 1,000 bank executives were convicted by the Justice Department stemming from the Savings and Loan Crisis.
Perhaps, with a reasonable outcome, this will begin to restore confidence in this country's criminal justice system and reverse the belief that the bankers control our government.
