The American people have long opposed more foreign intervention in the Middle East. Add this issue as a proposal for the people to vote on when we vote in the upcoming congressional elections. While the American people are far from experts, we should be allowed to have a say. Obama was elected on the platform of pulling American troops out of the Middle East, and the people are weary of war. Allowing the people to vote will force the administration to set a clear goal for such an intervention, and restore international faith in the democratic process in the United States. Should the people vote against an intervention, the administration should channel that money into research on domestic renewable energy sources that will allow us to be energy independent.
