Diana Rubens and Kimberly Graves defrauded the government and taxpayers out of nearly $400,000. Their punishment so far has been merely a demotion to positions still providing salaries in excess of $100,000 annually. This is not only an insult to Veterans everywhere who are fighting for benefits that they deserve but aren't receiving, but it is also an insult to all taxpayers. Rubens and Graves should be brought up on criminal charges, or at the very least removed from Veterans Affairs with no possibility of future governmental work. If this does not happen then VA Secretary Robert McDonald needs to be held accountable for his lack of oversight and commitment to fixing the broken VA system.
