Hold every Politicians accountable for their Campaign Promises and what they say.

If President Clinton got impeached for lying about his personal life shouldn't the campaign promises the politicians run on be equally important? Shouldn't they be held accountable for lying about the things that effect and concern the citizens they are appointed by? As I and Most view this a equivalent to perjury.

Why is it the Politicians and Police have the right to lie and nothing they say is held against them in a court of law. We the People have the right to remain Silent and Everything we say Can and Will Be used against you in the court of law. Doesn't this seem wrong?
