Hold firm and refuse to approve the Keystone pipeline. Protect the environment against spills, and reduce climate change

By standing firm and not approving the Keystone pipeline, several goals are accomplished:
1. President Obama boosts his credibility to do something about climate change.
2. Not building the pipeline protects thousands of acres of land from potential oil spills.
3. Not approving the pipeline means that we as Americans won't support the Canadian extraction of oil through the tar sands. It is an extremely inefficient and highly polluting way to get fuel.
We don't need it! Not even for energy independence or potential (temporary) job creation. If we don't get serious about protecting the environment, there won't be a world left to live in, let alone work in.
