On Wednesday morning, 8-8-15, EPA workers were working with some Environmental Response and Restoration people, who are a company that was contracted to investigate the extent of contamination coming from the Gold King Mine Co. and a hole was created in the containment wall.
I do not know who created the hole but they did not notify anyone that they had released 1 million gallons of toxic wastewater into the Animas River for at least 24 hrs.
What I want to know is why that water was allowed to reach that great of a volume in the first place and what was discussed during that 24 hrs before notification.
I read that the mine is still leaking the toxic water at the rate of 1,152,000 gallons per day.
I want the owners of Gold King Mine Co. not us, the EPA, to be responsible and accountable
