Recognizing that gun control will be ineffective, for the same reason that drug laws do little to curb drug use, we feel it is important to target the gun companies, ammo manufacturers and gun sellers where they will feel it most... in their wallets.
We petition the President and the Congress to enact legislation to remove any special consumer protection exceptions for firearms, and pass legislation to allow gun manufacturers, ammo manufactures and gun sellers to be held financially responsible for the death, injury and damage caused by their products. Other consumer products are held responsible - we feel guns should not be treated any differently.
This will not infringe on anyone's right to bear arms. It will allow the free market to determine if the liability is worth the cost.
