Members of Congress are heavily influenced by special interests through the financial contributions and lobbying of corporations and the wealthy. They are blatantly ignoring the needs of the majority of US Citizens and pandering to the gross imbalance of wealth in this country.
We need laws that hold our congressional leaders accountable to their constituents and a way for the voice of the majority to be upheld. We need both campaign finance reform and ways for the voice of the majority to directly influence the bills that are introduced and passed.
The 'fiscal cliff' is an artificial creation. Members of Congress are totally out of touch with the challenges and needs of the average American. Congress is NOT representing the will of the American People. That needs to change.
