An Open, Honest, and Sincere Constitutional Convention may help our Nation address the many and complicated issues which concern the Hundreds of Thousands of American Citizens who have voiced support for Secession. Rather than ignoring these cries of distress, or suppressing them with Martial Law or Paramilitary Police Action, we should avoid the perils of Civil War by accepting our concerned countrymen at the Negotiating table. By holding a Constitutional Convention, we may be able to address their salient points (and others besides), while also assuring that we are not weakened.
Should the Convention be unable to come to a satisfactory solution for all of the States, then those that wish to leave shall be peacefully allowed to do so, and will remain on friendly terms with us as well.
