There are a variety of laws and regulations concerning conventional medicine to ensure its safety and effectiveness. However, few if any such laws exist concerning holistic or alternative medicine. Let's close these loopholes that are regularly exploited.
My proposal is simple:
1) All medicine (including herbal supplements) be tested for safety and effectiveness, and if it can not be established as effective, require labeling saying so in plain language (eg, "this has not been established to treat or cure any diseases through any accepted scientific testing").
2) Establish the same laws about kickbacks in regards to alternative medicines. Doctors and pharmacists can't legally take them, nor should alternative providers who preach about the evil of conventional medicine.
