The legalization of marijuana for recreational use would also allow it to be studied for medical research. The economy would benefit from it. It would create jobs, provide tax revenue and decrease the cost of "the war on drugs". Marijuana prohibition is just like alcohol prohibition, the people are going to use marijuana whether it is legal or not, and from my research, a majority of people want marijuana to be legalized for recreational use. So why not give the people what they want?
