The New York Police Department has recently committed clear and unjustifiable acts of physical violence against peaceful protestors. These acts were documented on video and widely published by news media. The department has closed ranks and is unwilling to discipline the officers responsible or even admit the abuses occurred.
This behavior delegitimizes the NYPD and police in general. It harms the ability of police throughout the country to do their jobs.
