Once a week, the UK parliament meets directly with the Prime Minister to discuss the most significant issues facing the nation. By contrast, American Presidents hold the State of the Union only once a year, taking no questions, and often talking past the congress to the people watching at home.
What if American Presidents met privately once a month with Congress to take questions and talk policy? Behind closed doors they could make compromises which would better serve the nation as a whole.
With our current congress 1/6th as active as the historic "do nothing congress," America needs to dramatically improve its functionality to keep up with the other rapidly evolving economies of the world. We can do this if we encourage our leaders to work together and get things done for all of us.
