In light of Steven Brill's article in Time Magazine, "Bitter Pill: Why Medical Bills Are Killing Us." It is time to hold public hearings on why our health care costs so much.
And as Medicare is the only system which has been effective in keeping health care costs down, all Americans should be allowed to buy into Medicare as an alternative to private health insurance.
The overpricing of health care services and devices is bankrupting our citizenry, and dragging down our economy. The health care monopolies must be broken up, and all Americans should be allowed to benefit from the cost containment structure of Medicare.
