Earlier this week the State University of New York at Binghamton announced it is offering a seminar called “StopWhitePeople2K16.” #StopWhitePeople began trending on Twitter. Not only did the school, in a misguided attempt to cash in on the most vile subsection of the social justice trend, promote a lecture that is racist in intent with an odious hash tag, social media giant Twitter did nothing to stop this hate crime directed at white people. Racism, towards any race, should not be tolerated by anyone. SUNY is a collective of New York State schools that accepts state and federal funding. Our tax dollars are going towards the funding of schools that shamelessly promote racism and division. The federal government needs to send a strong message that racism will not be tolerated.
