There are enough excuses why children cannot succeed, A teacher who is motivated enough to help children will break through the barriers & help children realize success. Educators say that "Head Start" program will help poor children succeed. Yet, teachers/administrators are giving reasons why we shouldn't expect success in poor neighborhoods or why teachers should not be held accountable for children's success. Again, excuses why children should not be tested on what they know.
The real enemy of learning is lack of vision/motivation & laziness. A teacher is a powerful role model for children. The message that a teacher gives to a child can be more powerful/damaging than the rudiments of the lessons in a textbook. What message is a teacher giving to that "poor" child?
