The labor market is flooded with college graduates. It's clear that there aren't enough specialized jobs for everyone. A typical entry-level office job requires a bachelor's degree and several years of experience, yet could be easily performed by a high school graduate with no experience. Universities are accepting too many applicants, which is devaluing the degree. The degree programs are enrolling as many students as possible without caring about the repercussions. They lower the minimum achievement requirements, so more people can graduate. The result: flooded labor markets, absurdly high requirements for simple jobs, broken promises to and heavy debt for graduates, and an inability to distinguish truly talented students from the other graduates. Please start regulating universities.
