In response to cell phone companies not unlocking phones to be used in other countries or on other networks, the CTIA Commitment was drafted. All four major cell phone companies, including Verizon Wireless agreed to abide by the unlocking rules set in the commitment.
Verizon Wireless however, responded to the commitment by blacklisting all non Verizon devices from their network, forcing Verizon customers to purchase a new phone, instead of being able to bring their existing device with them from the previous carrier.
I am calling for Verizon Wireless to be held accountable to the agreement that was made and allow non Verizon devices back on their network.
