I purchased a home in July of 2016, 4 month later I receive a letter for the Home Owners Association stating that I was extremely diligent in my HOA fee and they would be referring the matter to their legal department for action. After digging for information, I found that the previous owner had owed the HOA back fees, but this owner lost the property to foreclosure. Now the Home Owners Association wants me to pay the previous owners delinquent account or they may foreclose on my home.

Home owners Association should not have the right to take and individual home away from them because of maintenance fees. They should not have the authority to attach debts from other individual to another either.
