On July 1, 2009, President Barack Obama signed S.614, a bill to award the Women Airforce Service Pilots (WASP) the Congressional Gold Medal of Honor. The WASP, the first group of women to fly military aircraft for the United States. The problem with this bill is that it was only awarded to a small group of women who had finished their training. Unfortunately there were many women who left once they were told the WASP was being disbanded. With the pressure of loved ones, male pilots, and some members of congress to end the program, many of these women left. They saw no future. They were in fact to some degree under attack in their own country. Please help all these woman who have been left out too long, be recognized for their sacrifice and contribution. Honor them all.
