Honor American Veterans by giving them they day off on Veterans day

Created by J.P. on November 11, 2014

Honor our American Veterans by giving them Veterans day off. Presently many veterans work while civilians and government service get the day off. Require businesses to give veterans the day off on Veterans day.

employers are required to give an eligible employee who is otherwise scheduled to work on Veterans Day the day off. Eligible employees must have served in the Armed Forces and meet the definition of Veteran in ORS
408.225. Military service in a reserve or National Guard unit does not qualify an employee as a veteran,
unless the employee was deployed or served on active duty for at least 6 months. Whether the time off is paid or unpaid is at the discretion of the employer.
