The people of the states of Colorado and Washington have made a decision which reflects the failed policies of America's war on marijuana. Laws allowing for the legalized use, transfer, possession, production, and sale of recreational marijuana should not be overruled by federal laws. Decisions such as these should be left up to the residents and citizens of their respective states; not the federal government. States' rights should be respected and honored. Actions at the federal level should also be taken to ensure that states who wish to make similar decisions in the future be honored as well.
