Honor Elvis Presley with Medal of Freedom

The United States have honored many entertainment peers of Elvis Presley, however have not afforded the same recognition to Elvis Presley. In his lifetime he helped pioneer a musical style that broke through racial barriers. At the height of his career he served honorably in the United States Army. He returned to a successful entertainment career. His career allowed him to make many charitable contributions. Since his death, his estate and his fans have continued those charitable endeavors. Elvis Presley was a humble individual and often wondered how he would be remembered. He embodied the American Dream. He showed a deep respect for our country. For this and many more innumerable reasons he should receive the Medal of Freedom.
