To honor the former Attorney General, and Presidential Candidate Robert F. Kennedy a national holiday should be created.

Created by R.A. on January 05, 2013

To honor the memory of Robert F. Kennedy I petition to the White House to create a federal holiday in which all Americans may take time to think about the ideals for which Mr. Kennedy stood for, wether it be in Civil Rights, Family Values, or Unity among all Americans. If we look at the America around us today, it is evident that it is the one Bobby warned us of. One where extremism is open, government officials work in the interest of political gain instead of American progress, and family values have all but vanished. If we, as Americans, take the one day of the year to remember this great man, and what he stood for we will be able to change not only our future but our present as well. As Robert Kennedy said, "The purpose of life is to contribute in some way to making things better."
