We the people ask the federal government to Take or explain a position on an issue or policy:

Honor the Ft. Laramie Treaty of 1851 and the UN Declaration of Rights of Indigenous People

Created by S.W. on November 27, 2016

We the undersigned respectfully demand the Fort Laramie Treaty and 61/295. United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples, which the US is a signer, be honored and enforced.
There are gross violations to both these agreements as well as human and civil rights violations happening right now in and around the Standing Rock Sioux Reservation in North Dakota. Enforcement of these agreements will put an end to the violence and abuse, protect both land and water, and show the USA, as a nation, holds to it's agreements.
The world is watching and we sit in shame as our government's inaction tells them we are dishonorable oath breakers and can't be trusted.
