We the people, in order to pay homage and give long overdue recognition to the ingenuity, adeptness, courage, bravery, and countless contributions of Native American and Alaskan Native people of this Nation, do hereby petition to establish a Native American History Month.
Our goal is such, that by setting aside one month per year dedicated to educating our society about the true history and current struggles of America's Native people, that we can reduce and/or erase racial/social stigmas, develop a deep appreciation for the contributions of Native people, and improve the overall education of our Nation as a whole.
