Honor Nelson Mandela's long walk to freedom with an annual remembrance of his conviction and capacity for forgiveness.

Created by B.J. on December 06, 2013

I simply would like the life of Nelson Mandela to be remembered by our government in an annual celebration. A walk would be a fine way to remember him. I hope that elected, appointed, and hired members of our government would be reminded of his incredible fight for civil rights in South Africa. He was willing to suffer and die to secure basic liberties for his colleagues and countrymen. As a honor to him, I hope our country will remember him as a fellow patriot in humanity's quest for liberty not granted but solemnly protected by the government.
