We the people ask the federal government to Propose a new Administration policy:

Honor the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty

Created by J.S. on November 10, 2016

The United States and Russia must negotiate in good faith to begin disarmament of their respective nuclear weapons arsenals. This is required by the Non-Proliferation Treaty, created in 1970 and extended in perpetuity in 1995. This is a moral and ethical obligation, as our two countries are the only ones which possess enough nuclear material to pose an existential threat to life on this planet. The doctrine of mutual assured destruction (MAD) is obsolete, and while we have avoided catastrophe for many decades, an accident or escalation is inevitable. Please begin the discussion now, for the sake of future generations.
