Honor our local fallen comrade, Noel Thomas West, by awarding him with Medal of Honor for his heroism in the Vietnam War

Noel Thomas West a former resident of Tacoma, Wa was killed in action June 19, 1967 Noel was a medic in the Army with the Special Four, A CO, 4th BN, 47th INF RGT 9 INF. DIV involved in Operation Concordia in June of 1967 which carried a high cost-48 American died. Noel has been awarded the Silver Star & Purple Heart. The Republic of Vietnam he was awarded Noel the Military of Merit Metal and the Gallantry Cross Palm. Circumstances surrounding his death forced Navy commanders to never again withdraw river boats while troops remained on shore. A valuable lesson at the expense of our local football hero, Noel, who was the first victim of this war in our town. The number of lives Noel saved as a medic should be remembered and honored with the highest praise our country can offer
