Under the current "We the People" online petition system, there are a large number of petitions that have exceeded the 25,000 signature threshold, yet never receive any response from the presidential administration.
This undermines one's confidence in the petition system, and sends the clear message that either nobody is reading the petitions, or that nobody actually cares about the issues being put forth.
