Honor the service & history Military Working Dogs have played by erecting a National Monument in Washington D.C.

Military Working Dogs, MWD's, have played a major role in the defense of this Nation for almost 99 years. First being utilized in WWI, the U.S. Military has deployed MWD Teams in all wars and conflicts with roles ranging in sentry, scout, patrol, casualty, explosive & narcotics detection, ratters and mascots. Like many of our Service Members, they gave their lives and saved many others in the service to our country. For example Mr. President, on 2 May 2011,you witnessed as MWD Cario and his SEAL handler storm the compound housing Osama Bin Ladin. We know how that nigh ended, however Cario's role went largely unnoticed. This example is why I am asking you, our Commander in Chief, to erect a National Monument in our Nation's Capital to honor the service these canine heroes have played.
